St. Ben's Project |
|
This meal dates back to the mid 60's when Michael and Annette Cullen opened up their home to show hospitality and share a meal with their struggling neighbors. As the group grew, the meal was moved to St. Ben's where it is today. It is now known as Fishes and Loaves. An average of 454 men, women and children are served each evening except Saturday.
As a church family, we prepare, deliver, and serve a meal of the 4th Friday of March and October. Our menu consists of meatloaf, baked potatoes, bars, cookies, and fresh fruit. We also take boiled eggs as an extra that many guests save for their Saturday meal. The meal is delivered by 1 p.m. At 5 p.m. 20 servers from First C.R.C. arrive to help serve. We serve until 6:30 p.m.
We all feel so blessed to be able to heed the Lord's call, to care for those less fortunate, and to share in our blessings.
